RJR Communications assumed full ownership of the magazine and all related assets of the joint venture in January 2009. Total readership of American Legacy was over 2 million when the print edition went on hiatus in 2011. American Legacy Network is scheduled to launch during Q4 2018. American Legacy's mobile truck exhibit has continued to travel the country visiting school districts, African-American festivals and colleges and universities.
