He’s an average guy who works for a living managing the social networking for a museum. She’s an 800-year old vampire longing to be human again. Together can they break the curse and bring her back?
That’s the plot behind MY DREAMGIRL WAS A VAMPIRE, a short sci-fi movie shot by Merrimack resident Tim Morgan. DREAMGIRL is part romantic comedy, part AMAZING STORIES science fiction story.
To celebrate the upcoming film, which will release on October 25th through Amazon Instant Video, Morgan and the cast will be visiting the Granite State Comicon (GraniteCon). GraniteCon will be held September 13th and 14th, 2014 at the Radisson Center of New Hampshire in Manchester, NH.
Joining Morgan will be leading man Billy J. Pomerleau, who plays historian Grant; Kimberley Miller, who plays vampire Stefanie, and villain Rocky Maxwell, who plays vampire Adam in the short.
“I’m excited to be a part of GraniteCon,” says Morgan. “Last year was a great time for me as an artist; I can imagine it’s even more fun for the people on the other side of the table.”
Morgan will be hosting some giveaways at GraniteCon: signed scripts used by the actors and a tee shirt will be raffled off to lucky winners. “The tee shirt is really exciting,” says Morgan, “only 24 were printed and I won’t be making any more. The only people who have these are cast, crew, a few key supporters, and the winners of the raffle. You can’t get these anywhere else.” Also available will be a book of the film, which includes the original script, production notes, stills, and a few behind-the-scenes photos, and possibly DVDs of the short. The availability of DVDs will depend on whether the short is accepted into one of the film festivals the team has submitted to. Morgan should know the fate of his film in early September.
Morgan, a software developer by day and a writer/filmmaker by night, will also have copies of his debut novel, THE TRIP, available at GraniteCon. THE TRIP follows three high school seniors who set off on a cross-country bicycle trip, only to face a zombie apocalypse. The story follows the events leading up to the journey and their desperate race for home.
