Comic Book Culture is Celebrating One Year
Comic Book Culture is celebrating one year of Super Heroes, trading cards, comic books, video games, Cosplayers and feature film magic.
We will celebrate our first year anniversary by revisiting the people and stories that made our first year. With the dramatic shift in the public’s interest in comic culture, a wave of films and TV shows have driven home the comic book brand and then put it through the roof. We have watch it expand its boundaries and win new fans as comic influenced is everywhere in all media.
Now more than ever comic culture is a driving force behind popular culture with a demographic that goes from six years old to sixty year old. We found that comic culture is the fastest growing sector of all leisure activities.
With eighty videos to choose from and a world of cosplayers and graphic artists, Comic Book Culture is a pool of imagination and fantasy. We have a international line up episode guests and videos from a creative world that just keeps on bringing the energetic wave of compelling graphics and images.
With so much to recap, we are looking forward to seeing where we were, so we know where we are going.

Pop Star Tanay Jackson Hopes Fans Will Get "Addicted" To Her New Single
The Jackson's have a new star on rise! Pop newcomer Tanay Jackson recently released her latest single "Addicted"; produced by up and coming producer Ryan Lawford. Currently available on I-Tunes and Amazon Music, "Addicted" is an up-tempo/pop dance record with an infectious hip-hop fueled baseline. Quickly becoming a viral hit, "Addicted" has garnered Tanay’s her strongest musical impact to date, further solidifying her as an "artist to watch" in 2014 and 2015.
As a member of the next generation of the great Jackson family, Tanay Jackson is no stranger to the music business. Daughter of pop legend Tito Jackson of the legendary Jackson 5 and niece to late great Michael Jackson; Tanay isn't depending on her musical pedigree for success, just her ability, talent, hard work and God as she firmly states are her keys to success. In 2013 Tanay Jackson released "Naughty Girls Needs Love". That single proved to be a marginal overseas hit and led to a promo tour for Ms. Jackson. With Addicted, Tanay plans to build on that early success and reach the heights of her full potential.
"Being a Jackson is a gift and a curse. I have name recognition but it comes with baggage. I understand that I will be compared to my family but it must be understood that I am my own person and want to express my vision to the world uninhabited"
- Tanay Jackson
Look for Tanay Jackson to close out the year strong. Tanay will be making several media stops as well as performances. Look for Addicted to make a major impact on radio in the third quarter

The Girls in the Band - Thursday September 18th 6:30 p.m
THE GIRLS IN THE BAND tells the poignant, untold stories of female jazz and big band instrumentalists and their fascinating, groundbreaking journeys from the late 20s to the present day. These incredibly talented women endured sexism, racism and diminished opportunities for decades, yet continue today to persevere, inspire and elevate their talents in a field that seldom welcomed them.
Attending this special screening will be DR. THOM DAVID MASON, who taught the very popular Jazz & Swing from A to Z at Crowell Library earlier this year, and JUDY CHAIKIN, who produced and directed the film. Dr. Mason is the founder of the Jazz Studies Department at the Thornton School of Music, USC, and was so impressed with The Girls in the Band, he’s seen it multiple times. He also knows some of the musicians featured in the film so he will have many insights to share with the audience.
Director/Producer Judy Chaikin is best known for writing, producing and directing the Emmy nominated PBS documentary, Legacy of the Hollywood Blacklist. She is a graduate of AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women. Regarding her film, The Girls in the Band, Judy says, “We hope that the great joy we all had in learning about these amazing women, will be shared by the viewers and that the film will bring these artists the admiration and respect they so rightly deserve. This film is my tribute to their courage and musical artistry, which has never been properly celebrated… Our greatest satisfaction will come if this film can inspire a new crop of young female jazz musicians to stand on the shoulders of those early pioneers and to reach for the stars.”
Crowell Library is very fortunate to have these two guests at this special screening that is free for one and all. Don’t miss it!

Lift-Off International Film Festival Selects BINKY by Stephen David Brooks to be part Lift-Off 2014
Los Angeles based director/screenwriter Stephen David Brooks was recently awarded an official selection for his film BINKY which was selected out of 700+ global entrants, to screen at the prestigious Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival, an indie event held annually in Venice Beach, California; which forms part of the wider Lift-Off International Film Festivals, who have live indie screenings in four transatlantic cities, each held quarterly throughout the year.
The festivals motto is: Look beyond the gloss. Put talent before technology.
Something that holds true to BINKY.
At the event all of the films will be scored by the attending audience, where the winners are then screened at all three proceeding transatlantic events, with the ultimate aim to give filmmakers like Stephen David Brooks the best exposure possible as they embark on their continued artistic journeys.
James Alexander Co-Director and Co-Founder of Lift-Off says…
"Getting into any Lift-Off Film Festival is a massive achievement. The world of independent film has grown so much over the years that many of the grass rooted filmmakers and emerging professionals are left without much of a platform any more. We felt that many of these artists who were producing exceptional work were being hugely ignored – and deserved to be seen!"
The reasons for making a film are myriad, complex, and ultimately, mysterious. BINKY was borne out of a conversation with an ill friend. Our discussion of what, if anything, comes next was the subject of much conjecture and debate. In reality, we couldn’t answer the basic questions of existence. We could only speculate. It is out of this conversation that BINKY was created. It is merely an attempt to explain what comes next. Or, perhaps, it is more about how we choose to live out this life, how we choose to treat the people who touch our lives that is the answer. Perhaps we have been asking the wrong question all along. – Stephen David Brooks
BINKY screens Friday, 5th September 2014, 6.30pm - 9.30pm
Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival is held at the Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Centre September 4th-6th Thurs-Saturday from 7-9.30pm. To register for free admittance head to the Film Festivals website http://www.lift-off-festival.com

NH Filmmaker Takes A Bite Out Of Vampire Genre With Book Of Film
A mild-mannered historian meets the woman of his dreams, but she’s got a secret. She’s an 800-year-old vampire seeking to be human again. Together can they break the curse and free her from an eternity of torment?
That’s the story behind NH writer Tim Morgan’s short film, My DreamGirl Was A Vampire. The story follows Grant (Billy J. Pomerleau) in his quest to free beautiful vampire Stefanie (Kimberley Miller). The movie was originally envisioned as a film festival entry and filmed entirely in NH. Morgan decided to release the film after the festival season ends through Amazon Instant Video.
In preparation for the release, Morgan is releasing a book of the film that includes the original script, notes on the production, and full-color stills and behind-the-scenes photos. The book will launch on Amazon.com on August 16, 2014. My DreamGirl Was A Vampire: The Book of the Film will be available in paperback and Kindle editions.
“I’m excited for this movie,” says writer/director/producer Tim Morgan. “Aside from being a good story about two complex characters, this is an inside look at what goes into making an indie film. You’ll get to see the challenges and the rewards of making a movie in a short period of time with a tight budget.”
Morgan is a small-time filmmaker and independent author. His zombie novel, The Trip, is available on Amazon.com.

Master of Horror/NY Times Best-Selling Author Clive Barker Signs With Beacon Audio Books
Clive Barker is a New York Times Best-Selling author, film director, video game designer and visual artist best known for his work in both fantasy and horror. Barker came to prominence in the mid-1980s with a series of show stories which established him as a leading young horror writer. He has since written many novels and other works, and his fiction has been adapted into films, notably the incredibly popular Hellraiser and Candyman series.
Barker's distinctive writing style is characterised by the notion of hidden fantastical worlds coexisting with our own, the role of sexuality in the supernatural, and the construction of coherent, complex and detailed universes. Barker has referred to this style as "dark fantasy" or the "fantastique". His stories are notable for a deliberate blurring of the distinction between binary opposites such as Hell and Heaven, or pleasure and pain (the latter particularly so in The Hellbound Heart).
When the Books of Blood were first published in the United States in paperback, Stephen King was quoted on the book covers: "I have seen the future of horror, his name is Clive Barker."
A critically acclaimed author, artist, film director and producer, Clive Barker is iconic in the world of horror and dark fantasy. He has now teamed up with Beacon Audio Books to produce, narrate and distribute two incredible books, "Incarnations" and "Forms of Heaven". Airbag Productions Chooses Frankie for its Real-time Video Reviews
Airbag Productions has chosen Frankie to conduct video review sessions both internally and with its local and remote clients after testing and comparing many other options. For its work creating commercials, Airbag found Frankie to be the easiest product to use, with the most appealing interface and PDF summary. Production companies like Airbag now have an affordable and simple-to-use option to complete video reviews.
Airbag Productions, in Melbourne, is a combined VFX, animation and production company that creates commercials, films and documentaries. It spent several months testing video review packages, using trial versions side-by-side on the same project so it could have an accurate comparison. This allowed the studio to get an idea of how simple each tool would be for its clients to pick up, as well as which features it needed across every project. In the end, Airbag chose Frankie, the video review tool from the maker of cineSync.
"We decided on Frankie because it is by far the easiest product to use and has the most attractive PDF summary," said Nick Wright, director at Airbag Productions. "Frankie outshone the competition in these two areas, both of which are key to our client work. With the addition of their new competitive entry-level plans, Frankie also fits nicely into our budget."
It was the simplicity of use and the design of the PDF that is saved at the end of each session that really sold Wright on Frankie. "The PDF is lovely. It's succinct and well designed," he said. "It was the only one we'd be willing to share with our clients."
Using Frankie to complete a TVC for McCann UK
Airbag used Frankie for both interactive and independent reviews during the creation of a commercial for Vauxhall Insignia, which features creative CG images of metallic birds, bulls and dolphins that morph into each other and the car. For independent reviews, Wright uploaded various versions of these CG assets that differed in color tone to Frankie. He marked them up using Frankie's annotating and comment tools, then sent the URL to the clients to review in their own time. Given the time difference between Melbourne and the ad agency offices in the UK, Wright could upload images at the end of his workday in Australia so the creatives and producers at McCann in Birmingham could review them overnight. Their feedback was often waiting for Wright when he started his workday the following morning.
When asked what she was most proud of about the Vauxhall Insignia commercial, Kirsten Michael, post producer at Airbag, pointed to the efficiency of their workflow as well as the clarity of their communication with the producers in Birmingham and the creatives on the Airbag team.
"We completed this marathon sprint in just five weeks," Michael explained. "Frankie certainly helped with this, eliminating confusion with feedback to speed up the process."
Michael described how, on the Vauxhall ad and also on a new commercial Airbag is producing for another UK client, they skipped through reviews frame by frame, letting the clients write their comments in Frankie's notes section while they talked via Skype.
"It was simple for us to tell the client, 'Point and click here, now you can draw right on the frame,'" Michael said. "I understand that many people struggle with technology, but Frankie is easy to explain to our clients."
A live, interactive Frankie session can come in handy even with local clients or when the Airbag team is working in the same room.
"We tested many other products but kept coming back to Frankie because it's the most useful of the tools we tried, especially when there's distance involved," said Wright. "But we use it with local clients as well, even if they're in the same city, to keep things simple. If we're discussing something and there's confusion, we send them a URL of the uploaded video, they open it on their screens in Frankie, and we have an interactive review session. We can mark up the video and make comments in real time, then print all these annotations and screen shots off in a PDF. Frankie really is easy to drive."
Frankie recently introduced two entry-level plans to accompany its Frankie Pro. New users can try Frankie free for 21 days, using the fully featured trial account. This watermarked version can be converted to one of the paid plans during or after the trial. Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and accounts can be put on hold, with all data saved, for a small monthly fee. For detailed information on the feature set of each plan, or to sign up for a free trial, visit http://www.cospective.com/frankie/.

When Digital Meets 35mm: Idan Menin is Blending the Past with the Future in Of Fortune And Gold
When Digital Meets 35mm: Idan Menin is Blending the Past with the Future in Of Fortune And Gold
Los Angeles, CA - August 5, 2014
Idan Menin doesn't settle for the basic. Or the easy. He always aims for the next tier and is as textured a professional as the images he captures. Great cinematography lies in the details, and you can trust that Idan Menin will be there to find them. When Prominence Films, Inc. hired him as the Director of Photography on their feature film Of Fortune And Gold, the idea of shooting on 35mm had not yet crossed their mind. But after some testing by Menin, he and the director found that 35mm film had the texture and aesthetic necessary to achieve the desired look for the scenes in question.
Of Fortune And Gold depicts four twentysomethings roaming the Southwest in the quest for hidden gold. During their epic road trip (shot on the Arri Alexa), the story flashes back to a gangster rivalry in the Old West. The Old West scenes will be shot 3-perf s35mm with an Arricam ST. As Jared Marshall, Director of Of Fortune And Gold, explains, “We are blending the past with the future, as we are going to shoot the B storyline on 35mm! This will be the perfect way to capture the Western theme and revive the spirit of spaghetti westerns from which we took inspiration.” Film was a valuable choice to bridge the historical gap between Of Fortune And Gold and the movies that inspired it, such as The Good, The Bad And The Ugly and Easy Rider.
Prominence Films, Inc.: Formerly Circle That Entertainment, the production company was founded in 2011 in Los Angeles with one mission--to bring a revolutionary approach to visual storytelling

“DEADLY REVISIONS” releases new, extended trailer!
With the announcement of writer/director Gregory Blair’s “DEADLY REVISIONS” becoming an official selection of the New York Independent Film Festival, fans can now get a longer peek at the film with a brand new trailer that reveals more of the creepy goings on. But one thing remains: Blair’s unique blend of psychological thriller and horror film is getting people excited.
The film has already garnered Blair the EOTM Award for “Best Director of an Indie Horror Film” and reviewers to laud it as “Mind Blowing” (Charred Remains Blogpost) and “Visionary! ” (A Bucket of Corn) with “Genuine Fun Jolts!” (Ain’t It Cool News). In addition to the New York Independent Film Festival, “DEADLY REVISIONS” is also an official selection of the FANTastic Horror Film Festival with more to be announced in the coming weeks.
In the film, Emmy Award winning horror movie favorite Bill Oberst, Jr. plays Grafton Torn—an amnesiac horror film writer for whom hypnotherapy and nightmares reveal terrifying images that just can’t be real. Or can they? A valentine to the horror genre, the film provides all the spooky staples fans adore while providing loving winks to masters such as Brian DePalma, Sam Raimi and Alfred Hitchcock. Through the combination of these elements, as our hero examines his past, the film also examines the art of the horror film itself and its own value as a fun and safe place to confront our fears and, maybe, go a little crazy.
So turn off the lights, turn up the sound and take a closer look at “DEADLY REVISIONS”: http://youtu.be/P-jIBBws0z4

Archstone Releases WWII Sci-Fi Action/Adventure Film "P-51 Dragon Fighter" on DVD/VOD August 19
Archstone Distribution announces the US DVD/VODrelease of the World War II sci-fi, action/adventure film P-51 Dragon Fighter on August 19.
P-51 Dragon Fighter will be available through Video-On-Demand (VOD) and Pay-Per-View on Comcast, Cox, Dish Network, Frontier, and Verizon, and on DVDat Family Video, Hastings, Video Warehouse, and your favorite online retailer such as Amazon.com.
Directed by Mark Atkins (Battle of Los Angeles) and starring Scott Martin (The Rig) as Lt. John Robbins and Stephanie Beran (Fatal Call) as Rachel McKee, P-51 Dragon Fighter is a high-energy, sci-fi, action/adventure which takes place during World War II. As the allies advance in North Africa, the Nazis, led by Hitler’s fascination with the Occult, unleash an ancient terror. Out of the night sky, the Allies are ambushed by dragons. Facing annihilation, a rag tag group of P-51 pilots are sent on a desperate mission to fight the dragons and save the war.
Director Mark Atkins notes: “When Scott Martin and Michael Slifkin approached me about working with them on P-51 Dragon Fighter, I was honored for two reasons: First after having such a rewarding time working on Battle Force, I was keen to work on something else with Archstone. Second was having the opportunity to create an epic sci-fi fantasy action movie set against the backdrop of North Africa in WW II. What happens when fire-breathing dragons controlled by a secret occult unit of the Nazis go up against a skilled but volatile group of pilots chosen from every corner of the allied fighting force? From our stellar cast and crew to the visual effects wizards at Rogue State, everyone worked exceptionally hard to deliver the answer in P-51 Dragon Fighter.”
P-51 Dragon Fighter was produced by Scott Martin and Michael Slifkin, of Archstone Pictures.
Scott Martin, comments: "Our goal was to deliver to the sci-fi audience exactly what you expect from the title, its Dragons versus P-51 Mustangs. And we enjoyed working with this cast and crew, so we're very pleased that we are now bringing this film to the audience."
Producer Michael Slifkin adds: “With the partners we have on this project, the production value is off the charts for a film this size."
424 Post (Academy Award Nominee for Apocalypto) provided the post work and sound design, and Rogue State (Dragons of Camelot) created the special effects. All props and set designs were provided by ISS Props, supplier to every major studio in Hollywood.

Midnight Dawn Vows To Bring Realistic Portrayal Of Espionage
MTD Studios is proud to announce that its new spy thriller, Midnight Dawn, has entered production. The drama began principal photography throughout Florida and will be released on multiple digital platforms early next year.
Midnight Dawn is a dark and gritty thriller about a spy who is betrayed by his handler. Michael Opal portrays this handler and briefly discusses the project, "Working on a well plotted spy thriller is an actor's dream for me. I'm excited to start working on the complexity of the character and digging into the inner workings of espionage. I know the producers are striving to create the most realistic depiction of what happens behind the curtain.”
"With intense research, the producers portray as accurate a view of espionage as possible." Michael Dunn continues, “Reading numerous declassified government materials and studying spies who were exposed in public gave me some insight. We even studied the techniques of professional assassins. We really want this movie to be taken seriously yet still entertain.” Then Producer Gabriel Cash chimes in, “We really hope our film is viewed by real spies who respond – saying that Midnight Dawn was pretty accurate... That espionage work is all about the shades of gray. Then, we know we succeeded.”
Veteran actress Cyndi Crotts portrays Debra Walters, an agency analyst that pieces together the conspiracy that Johnson had created by misusing his asset for personal gain. “I like the challenge. The film is a bit of a departure from the horror films for which I am known. I really like the witty banter between the friends or rivals in this script. I'm really excited to be a part of this film.”
Actor Kibwe Dorsey is playing the tactical expert Andy Reynolds, hired to track down the rogue spy. Dorsey comments, “There are so many gifted and talented people who never get a chance... so I don't take anything for granted. I'm thankful for every opportunity God allows me to receive.” Dunn adds, “Kibwe brings a lot of energy to Andy. His character has a brilliant mind and he always knows what is going to happen before it actually does.”
Producer Gabriel Cash is enthusiastic about the darker nature of this film. “Our last feature film (Bloody 27) was light and campy. It's a nice change to be dark and serious. Many of the characters are really screwed up and it makes the story more interesting.” Director Michael Dunn adds, “Well, serious to a point. I wrote the script so it's still got some humor in it. It's definitely a more dramatic approach than our previous project.”
Jamie Belanger Banta portrays Stacy, an I.T. specialist for the agency. Actress Banta discusses the role, “It is really wonderful to be working with this cast and crew again. Almost all the crew members, with whom I worked on Alone & Restless, are still here doing what they love. I have such a fun character, too. She's smart and savvy – I love all the technology she uses, too.”
The Alex Frielings Company will handle the Dolby Digital audio mix and soundtrack for the upcoming feature film. As sound producer, Frielings is looking forward to the opportunities this project presents. “This film is mostly a drama, but we do have some clever action sequences planned. I'm really excited about those scenes in particular. The gun battles and fight sequences really present some amazing challenges and I think it will help the sound mix shine.”
Midnight Dawn will be executive produced by Gabriel Cash and directed by independent film director Michael Thomas Dunn. The official movie web site for Midnight Dawn is located at www.mtdstudios.com/midnightdawn

IndieFlix Launches Its First Original Series: The Maury Island Incident
IndieFlix, the worldwide independent film streaming service, announced the launch of its first Original Series: The Maury Island Incident. The show will premiere on IndieFlix on August 19, 2014.
Based on declassified FBI documents, The Maury Island Incident tells the incredible, tragic, and forgotten story of Harold Dahl, who on June 21, 1947, alleged a UFO sighting over Puget Sound, Washington. This sparked 'the summer of the saucers,' the modern era of UFO obsession, the first appearance of Men in Black and a governmental battle over UFO sighting jurisdiction reaching directly to FBI Executive Director J. Edgar Hoover.
“IndieFlix viewers will not only learn new information about a lost, historic UFO case, they'll also find out just how interested J. Edgar Hoover was with these 'flying disc' occurrences,” Producer / Director Scott Schaefer said. “And we will also be releasing some fascinating declassified FBI documents that show his personal interest in UFOs, specifically The Maury Island Incident.”
Initially shot as a short in Seattle, with local talent and crew, The Maury Island Incident has been a labor of love for Producer / Writer Edmiston and Producer / Director Schaefer, and Washington Filmmworks who gave out an Innovation Lab Award to this production. The Lab is a groundbreaking new program offering funding assistance to Washington filmmakers and filmmakers using emerging technologies. “Equal parts mystery and documentary, The Maury Island Incident exposes a fascinating hidden history: the first recorded UFO incidents in the US didn’t occur in Roswell, but in Washington. This captivating project brings a spooky Seattle area legend to light and sets the stage for ongoing storytelling on the subject” commented the jury of the Innovation Lab.
Thanks to the help and support of Washington Filmworks’ Innovation Lab, Edmiston and Schaefer got the opportunity to turn their content into a series. “We simply did not foresee the heightened tension that could be created with re-shaping our content into a serialized structure, and the Innovation Lab pushed us to that discovery. From that moment, we began seeking an ideal partnership for development and distribution of the serial content and of course, IndieFlix was at the top of our wish list.”
Founded by filmmakers in 2005, IndieFlix is a membership-based streaming service that has become one of the most meaningful global online platforms in the industry. IndieFlix gives film lovers access to thousands of high quality independent shorts, features, documentaries and series from around the world via Roku, Xbox and all Internet connected devices including smartphones and tablets. IndieFlix’s mission is to champion filmmakers, launch careers, rethink traditional approaches to distribution, and celebrate the artistry and impact of independent film. IndieFlix’s unique royalty payment system pays filmmakers for every minute watched.
Edmiston adds: “We are excited to collaborate with IndieFlix, a company with an incredible track record of innovation. Of course, we love the fact that IndieFlix puts filmmakers first in almost every way imaginable. But even more, we have been impressed by the level of creativity and enthusiasm shown by the IndieFlix team as part of planning The Maury Island Incident series launch.”
Launching The Maury Island Incident as their first Original Series adds IndieFlix to the mix of online channels offering original content.
“We are so thrilled to have The Maury Island Incident as our first Original Series.” says CEO and co-founder, Scilla Andreen. “The show is so reminiscent of The X-Files and will be such a great new offering for our customers.”

New Canadian ‘Short Film Fan’ Blog Site Launched
A new Canadian-based blog site dedicated to the art of Canadian short films is inviting all curious film buffs to visit shortfilmfan(dot)wordpress(dot)com. Updated weekly, the blog is a source of news, information and reviews of these films and the industry. The website was launched May 2014 by Mike Kulasza, a communications professional and admirer of this film format.
“In the last few years, Canadian short films have really piqued my curiosity,” said Kulasza. Many of these films are made by aspiring film makers on shoe-string budgets as film school assignments, and as a way to build their career portfolios. Local Filmmakers Bring Unique Urban Drama to the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival
Hot, new, urban film Blood First has been selected to screen at the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival in Cleveland, Ohio, September 25-28th, 2014. The Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival's objective is to educate, entertain and highlight the African American experience via independent films and documentaries that represent the African American journey. Blood First is the first feature film for Cleveland natives Najaa Young and Olufemi Young and former Cleveland resident Rasheed Jihad.
Blood First chronicles the lives of two brothers who haphazardly follow their father's footsteps into a dangerous life of crime and violence. When faced with serving lengthy prison sentences for their crimes one brother chooses to cooperate with the prosecution while the other does not, testing the meaning of loyalty, honor and blood. The film’s non-linear storytelling fluidly mixes the past with the present as audiences experience what events occurred in their lives to make these men who they are today. Blood First also boasts a powerful score by multiplatinum music producer Drumma Boy and original music by Project Pat, Big KRIT, Turk (of the Hot Boyz), 8 Ball and MJG.
Najaa Young, who has a MFA in Film Production from Florida State University and worked for many years locally in the Cleveland arts scene, says, "I'm thrilled to be bringing this project home to Cleveland! This film addresses the serious issues of crime, violence and imprisonment facing many communities in northeast Ohio and takes an unflinching look at manhood in the inner city. We hope our film can create a real dialogue around these issues and ultimately real solutions.”
Blood First has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and is distributed by eOne and NSUC Entertainment Group. The Meat Puppet Inks Worldwide Distribution Deal With TomCat Films Presented By Girls and Corpses
"THE MEAT PUPPET" GARNERS WORLDWIDE DISTRIBUTION DEAL WITH TOMCAT FILMS PRESENTED BY GIRLS AND CORPSES BEING RELEASED JULY 21st 2015.
Valenti Vision Films, Silver Phoenix Entertainment in association with Keith Collins Media Inc., is thrilled to announce the award winning film "The Meat Puppet" has been picked up for worldwide distribution by TomCat Films.
STARRING: Keith Collins, Geri Reischl, Brandon Ruckdashel & Daniela Rivera
We have reviewed this film a while back when it premiered in NYC. This movie deserves 4 stars. It’s brilliantly written, the acting is superb and its shot in an eerie setting that gives you chills. Collins’ performance is flawless. He takes charge as the lead role (Andrew Shelton) bringing this character to life as the fullest extent of a psycho human being trying to fit in. His performance can possibly be compared to Linda Blair in the Exorcist or Anthony Perkins in the original Psycho. One not to miss, Collins will give you nightmares for a week. Geri Reischl who plays the misfit (Aunt Claire) is nothing short of perfection she brings her horrifying character to the screen and sends chills throughout your body. Brandon Ruckdashel (Detective Dave Benash) gives a stunning performance as he plays a full on cat and mouse game with Andrew Shelton. Watching the two characters unfold on the screen gives just the right amount of banter you’d want to see. Newcomer Daniela Rivera (Terri Costas) holds her own against the veteran actors. Her performances rise at times and she is one to keep your eye on. The chemistry between her and Collins on screen is impeccable as she falls deeper into his prey. We recommend this movie as a must see once it’s released you won’t be disappointed.
"The Meat Puppet" is looking to take a bite out of its competition around the globe now that TomCat Films is onboard as their distributor. TomCat Films is primarily known for its genre and mockbuster titles (Aliens vs Avatars, Thunderstorm: The Return of Thor, Agent Beetle) and is headed by sales and distribution veteran Ted Chalmers. "The Meat Puppet" has won 5 awards so far, including: Best Horror Film, Best Actor (Keith Collins) and Best NJ Feature. The film was produced entirely in New Jersey and features some of the final footage taken at Union Beach and Jakeabobs Restaurant and Bar, which were both devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
Synopsis:
Andrew "Drew" Shelton (Collins) appears to have it all… Looks. Money. Women. But behind that charming smile lies an unimaginable evil. An abusive childhood has turned him into an impulsive, delusional sociopath who has developed an insatiable appetite for beautiful women’s flesh. As the bodies pile up and a gung-ho detective (Ruckdashel) starts stalking him, Andrew descends deeper into madness. His obsession with one woman (Rivera) may be the only chance to stop him from serving up his next victim. Or will she fall prey and become the next main course?
Featuring: Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (Guns N' Roses), Skeery Jones (Z-100), Chris Wilkes (SNL), Gregg Valentino (TLC’s "The Man Whose Arms Exploded"), Billy Sample (former NY Yankee), Geri Reischl (The Brady Bunch Variety Hour), Emilio Masella (Jersey Shore), Billy Garcia & Gervase Peterson (Survivor), John Fields (DJ Unique), Gary Garver (formerly of The Howard Stern Show), Brandon Ruckdashel (Co-ed Confidential), Darren Server (Atlas Shrugged), Erik Chopin (Winner of The Biggest Loser), Theresa Galeani (Cross The Line), Matthew Schultz (Singer/Songwriter), Jamie Kovac (Fury from American Gladiators) and April Hunter (WCW & TNA wresting).
