The 2014 London Film Awards Names Jonathan LaPoma Feature Screenplay Grand Prize Winner

 Jonathan LaPoma announced today that his script, The Way Back Home, has been named the Feature Screenplay Grand Prize Winner of the 2014 London Film Awards, giving him his fourth first-place victory in the last four months and his 24th overall award/honor since 2013. The London Film Awards celebrates and awards the work of independent film’s best and brightest contemporary filmmakers and screenwriters spanning the globe. The London Film Awards is a distinguished international platform for both fresh and masterful talent to have their extraordinary work recognized and honored before the media and their industry peers.

The Way Back Home is a feature-length coming-of-age drama about a young animal-loving boy who must cope with his father’s insistence that he’ll someday work in the slaughterhouse that has employed the men of their family for several generations. Emmy Winning Writer Joseph Pepitone Becomes "Clean Cut" With New Horror Film



  
Joseph Pepitone is a two-time Emmy winning writer and also the director and co-writer of Stuck in the Middle and The Jersey Devil. Pepitone is currently working on two films, Phoenix: The Resurrection and Clean Cut.

DFF: You now have two films you co-wrote and directed under your belt. How did the second one differ from the first?

JP:  For Stuck in the Middle, had a very small crew. I am still amazed that we were able to make such a great film with the little resources we had and the little knowledge I had. Blind squirrel theory I guess. When we made The Jersey Devil, I had more experience and a lot more help. We had an incredible team and they covered all the bases and it freed me up to just worry about directing. It makes a world of difference when you have a great team doing a great job.

DFF: Stuck in the Middle is distributed and currently on Amazon. Where and when will The Jersey Devil be available?

JP: The Jersey Devil will be available everywhere in 2015. We have several distribution companies interested and we will be screening at more festivals. I’m very excited for the public to see this film. 

DFF: What do you enjoy most when directing these films?

JP: The best part is being able to work with such amazing actors. Keith Collins, Penelope Lagos, Jack Mulcahy, Stephen Fontana, Evonne Walton all have been in both my films and they have been terrific. I love writing for them and I love to see how they bring those characters to life. On The Jersey Devil we added Chris Mulkey, Edvin Ortega, Rosie Gunther among others and the chemistry was electric. It is a pleasure watching these actors work. Makes my job a lot easier. 

DFF: You currently in pre-production on two films. Tell us about those.

JP: Yes, it’s going to be a busy year. Phoenix: The Resurrection is a film we have been working on for a few years. This one is my brother Billy’s idea and we are really excited about it. But first, we are going to tackle the horror film, Clean Cut. This is a concept Keith Collins came up about an obsessive-compulsive, bible quoting serial killer that my brother and I wrote. We had a lot of success with this formula on Gravedigger, which is currently available everywhere. We are going to shoot Clean Cut at the end of February 2015. 

DFF: You’ve written comedies, horror and action. How are you able to move back and forth between genres?

JP: We find it easier to break it up. We try not to write for the same genre twice in a row. Once we finish a comedy we like to get away from that, get a little more serious and then get back to it with some fresh ideas. It also keeps us sharp to get out of our comfort zone sometimes.

Celebrity Photographer Showcases Animal Rescue Photos In NYC

Getty Images photographer Jamie McCarthy will showcase photos of some canine friends he met at Animal Care & Control of NYC (AC&C) tomorrow, December 18, 2014, in a special exhibition at The Empire Hotel (44 West 63rd Street). The event will be hosted in the hotel’s retail space on West 63rd Street from 11am to 4pm and is free and open to the public. Several shelter dogs currently in need of homes for the holidays will be in attendance.

Donations will be accepted from visitors, and the photos will be on sale for $50 each. Proceeds directly benefit AC&C. The exhibition will kick off tonight with an invite-only opening night reception of VIPs and tastemakers. Champagne will be generously provided by Cliffton Dry.

S. Charles PR Client to Present 1st Annual Fashion Historian Award to A Fashion Icon

Houston based PR firm, S. Charles Public Relations, announces today that their client Cynique Evoule will be kicking off the New Year with the first Annual Professionals on the Runway fashion show on January, 11 in Oakland, CA. The fashion show will raise money for homeless shelters in the Oakland area. Casting for the show will happen in the near future.

Fashion Enthusiasts and SCPR client, Cynique Evoule, will also be honoring Helpers House of Couture creator and San Francisco native, Ms. Joy Venturini Bianchi for her work in fashion and in the community.

Professionals on the Runway is an extension of Cynique Evoule’s Doctors on the Runways show. Doctors on the Runway took 12 doctors out of their element and made them into models for one night. The show was a part of Cynique Evoule’s Runway Series, a mélange of culture, which has been held in both San Francisco and Houston. Each year, the show has raised money for a children’s hospital in the area in which the show is held.

Comedy Show Swears Allegiance To North Korea

A comedy show out of Las Vegas has decided to step up and declare their allegiance to North Korea on the latest episode of their show. In a response to the terrorist tactics used by the group known as "Guardians of Peace", including the Sony hack and the threats of a 9/11 style attack on movie theaters that would show the Seth Rogen, James Franco movie "The Interview", Jim and Them have come forward and welcome North Korea as our new rulers.

"They succeeded in scaring powerful people and they got a goofy comedy movie pulled, might as well just get it over with," said Jim one of the hosts of the Jim and Them show. The past few weeks have certainly left not just Hollywood reeling but corporate business in general in the wake of this new world ruled by cyber terrorism. A lof ot people believe a precedent has been set now that the major theater chains refused to show the movie causing Sony Pictures to pull the release completely from the planned Christmas day debut.

Beta Music Group Furthers Expansion Into South Florida

Beta Music Group (OTC:BEMG) announced yet another city which it will be going to be expanding into. To date it has already entered several major markets including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and now Florida...more specifically Miami. Chaos Releases His New Single Titled "Money Train"

After unleashing his critically acclaimed mixtape “Never Change” New Jersey emcee Chaos releases his new single titled "Money Train" produced byRobb Rock which will be on his new upcoming mixtape "Never Change 2". Chaos who has been releasing freestyles every week via Twitter for his#ChaoticFridays series, blesses his fans with a hot new original track for the clubs.

When asked what inspired Chaos to write "Money Train" he states, "From going out to clubs and partying. Seeing how people respond to us when they feel we have money and is a person of importance". Chaos rips the beat of this club banger spitting:

As he sat in prison he knew he had to make a big decision. And upon his release that’s what he did. Go hard with his music and raise his daughter. Chaos came home on a bigger level than he was before he left.

Releasing a series of records with big artist such as Maino, Amil, and Lee Mazin and working with producers like Sedeck Jean and DJ Scoob. He is focused and ready to take over the world, he is currently working on his new mixtape “Never Change 2”. His previous mixtape “Never Change”included his hit single “Hate If You Wanna” ft Troy Ave which was on MTV Jams, VH1, all over blog sites like Hip Hop DX, ThisIs50, The Source, All Hip Hop etc, and in heavy radio rotation.
