Winter Film Awards Independent Film Festival Announces
2014 Call For Entries
Following the recent success of the WFA Kickstarter campaign, Winter Film Awards announces a CALL FOR ENTRIES for the 3rd Annual Independent Film Festival to be held February 27 – March 1 2014 in New York City. The weekend festival consists of three days of film screenings and industry networking after-parties culminating in an awards show to be held on March 1.
The WFA Festival focuses on the diversity of independent film, and offers an exciting mixture of film genres, viewpoints and subjects in order to give attendees the opportunity to see films they might never think to seek out. Among the 58 films selected for the 2013 Festival was a collection of documentaries, shorts, features, animation, music videos and horror films, including 9 student films, 15 female directors and representation from over 15 countries. Much like New York City itself, the Festival brings together the kaleidoscope of personal experiences into a glorious and energetic whole.
WFA 2014 Festival Submission categories include Narrative Feature, Foreign Language, Short, Documentary, Animation, Music Video, Horror and Screenplay categories. Outstanding work will be awarded for each category, along with Best Director, Best Actor/Actress, Best Original Score, Best Student Film and the PERSPECTIVES Award for best depiction of the multi-cultural experience. Submissions deadlines are as follows: Early Bird Deadline – October 15 2013, Regular Deadline – November 15 2013, Late Deadline – December 1 2013, Extended Deadline – December 15 2013. Entrants will be notified of final decisions by January 5 2014. Films may be submitted online via https://www.withoutabox.com/login/10803
