Revenge. Corruption. Violence. Sex. Murder. The new independent film Gravedigger covers all these slasher film necessity and does it better than the current horror fare I have seen. I recently attended the World Premiere of Gravedigger at the Golden Nugget Grand Showroom Theater in Atlantic City, NJ as part of the 2013 Downbeach Film Festival Atlantic City Cinefest and was shocked by the outcome of this film. Really didn’t expect to be drawn into the story and wanting more. The Acting was superb.

The best thing about Gravedigger is it keeps you guessing. The actual “Gravedigger” can be a number of characters from the film and the end provides you with a twist you will not see coming. Director Doug Bollinger (Waltzing Anna) moves the story along, leaving no slow moments in this film. The script written by Billy and Joseph Pepitone (Stuck in the Middle) is tight and filled with suspense as well as several gory scenes. The film was shot through the eye of Brandon Ruckdashel (Co-Ed Confidential) who gives it and intense spooky feel. The soundtrack is as good as any horror film I have seen. Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal of Guns and Roses provided the musical score and his blazing guitar solos are as scary as the film itself. With the music alone I’d have to give this film an overall 3 ½ stars out of 4.

Produced and starring Keith Collins, Gravedigger recently won big at the Downbeach Film Festival in Atlantic City, taking home Best Thriller and Best Actor for Collins.
